Community Foundation Welcomes Director

SMITH CENTER, Kan.— The Smith County Community Foundation is pleased to announce Aurielle Hughes as the Director of the Foundation.

As Director of Smith County Community Foundation, Aurielle leads our efforts and facilitates our mission. She was born and raised in Smith Center and returned in 2018 to be closer to family. Aurielle graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science from Fort Hays State University. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends and has a very close relationship with her nieces and nephews. Aurielle volunteers in many community projects and takes pride in her community. She is passionate about Smith County and has a desire to help the county grow for generations to come.

Aurielle is serving as the Foundation's first full-time Director, thanks to a staffing initiative grant funded by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation.
