Smith County Community Foundation Exceeds Goal!
SMITH CENTER, Kan.— Smith County Community Foundation held a Match Month in November 2024. Thanks to support from local donors and beyond, $86,170.51 was raised for the Smith County Action Fund, the unrestricted grant fund used for projects across Smith County. The Dane G. Hansen Foundation matched the first $50,000 by 200% which adds $100,000 and the Patterson Family Foundation matched $70,000. This brings the total community impact to $256,170.51!
“Smith County, we have completed another successful match month and exceeded our goal! It is truly amazing to see all the support from our donors and to see how these donations impact our county. These donations build our unrestricted fund and will improve Smith County for generations to come. Thank you to all those who donated to our Match Month and continue to support our foundation year after year!”- Aurielle Hughes, Smith County Community Foundation Director
This level of impact would not have been achieved without the generosity of the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation. The Dane G. Hansen was established as a charitable organization in 1965, with the primary goal of making the communities of Northwest Kansas better places to live. The Patterson Family Foundation is a family-led, non-profit foundation continuing the legacy of Neal and Jeanne Patterson whose mission is advancing health care, education, and strengthening communities especially in rural areas in Kansas and western Missouri.
Again, on behalf of the Smith County Community Foundation board, thanks to all who supported this match month campaign. We look forward to continuing to serve Smith County by impacting today and transforming tomorrow!
